THE Rey. Father Kennedy, of Syracuse, New York, delivered a most stirring tem- perance address before the members of St. Patrick’s T. A. Society, in St. Patrick’s Hall, last evening. The hall was over- crowded on the occasion, and the address listened to with marked attention. At the close, the rev. gentleman was loudly ap- plauded.

At the Stipendiary Magisirate’s Court, this forenoon, Thomas Noonan appeared for assaulting Thomas Larter with a knife. He was remanded to jail for 8 days. Daniel Madden was sentenced to 12 hours’ im- prisonment for stealiug cherries from Dr. Mackieson’s garden ; Pierce Larter, for the same offense, was sentenced to forty-eight hours’ imprisonment.

Suddenly, on the llth inst., at her resi- dence, Linkletter Road, Susan, the beloved wife of Geo. Linkletter, Elder, aged 51 years. The comparatively early death of this amiable and excellent woman is regretted, not only by her sorrowing husband and numerous family, but also by a wide circle of friends who esteemed the deceased as one who in an un- common degree adorned her Christian profes- sion.
