Muslin,which has been so long discard- ed, is to be in great faver for spring evening dresses and summer morning toilets. They are printed in small de- vices in soft shades of color upon light grounds, such as tea-rose, pale blue and cream. Avery pretty evening dress for a young girl is composed of pale blue grenadine. The skirt is covered with flounces clear to the waist, are

edged with lace, and ornamented with bows of dark blue velvet ribbon. The

bodice is of dark blue velvet pointed back and front; the sleeves and chemis- setie are of the blue grenadine. A large bunch of forget-mie-nots are fastened at the right side of the bodice. Walking dresses are of extreme simplicity. Plain woolen materials, such as casb- mere vigogue and diagonal are mostly

used. The chief differenee in the trimming of these dresses is that in- stead of being pleated all the way

down, they are now trimmed round the foot with rows of tucks. Cloth bodies are still very fashionable,and useful too with almost any dress; they are often made with a pleated plastron either of the same materia! or of that of the skirt.
