Fishermen Dust Off Rods As Fishing Season Opens

Fanadian fishermen. armed with rods and rule-books. checked their tackle and prepared to troll and past as the 1956 fresh-water game fishing season opened this month in many provinces.

Apart from Alberta, where there II no closed reason. and British Columbia, where fish can be caught in some part of the prov- ince at all times of the year, fish- ing becomes letlal this month in Prince Edward Island. Nova Sco- tia. New Brunswick. Quebec. On- tario and Manitoba.

The Newfoundland and Sask- atchewan seasons start next month. The federal government

regulates salt-water game fish.

For the prospective fisherman the rule book is a must in his equipment, if he isn't to get on the wrong side of the law.
