_ Can there ever be peace? If so how can it be obtained? Is war
necessary for peace? How can peace
be reatained once it has been ach— ieved? 4
Thare must be peace, we must- either live together in the world
'- at least some humans on earth
must live in peace — or destroy the human race. It is unlikely that man would destroy all his kind, it is not natural and man is part of nature.
There have been many at- tempts to obtain peace. Most religions are directed to fos- tering a wordly peace but none have worked so far. Napoleon and'Hitler, in their own way, were striving towards peace and they may have made it if they had tried longer and harder. I think that there is a formula that may work and I will precede to outline it.
An important element in the establishment of peace is the in- dividual man himself. To be able to live in peace with others, a man must be at peace with himself. Man is easily tempted to envy and jealousy., The only way this can be overcome is to make every man believe that waht he is and does is the only thing that is good for
'him. He must be so thoroughly
satisfied that when he looks at someone else he is unable to say - "Iwish I were him."
It is also necessary for a man to be comfortable to be able to live in peace. A man who has all the food, clothing, warmth, respect and enjoyment that he expects, is comfortable. Whether he is a slave from the Old South or a highly-educated engineer,,as long as he has as much comfort as he thimks he should have or ex- pects. he will be happy.

.much work and if it wasn't imposed,- ,peace would not last.
The Com- munist theory for establishment of a world—state includes the take over of the different states and countries by force. This theory is superior to others.
Not only is war necessary for the establishment of peace, but for the retention of peace. Some kind of force and a very strong system are also necessary. Immeciately after a world—state» is formed a very strong system must be established to control the people until a perfect en- vironment has been found for all.
Another condition for the es- tablishment of peace is the pre- sence of highly advanced scienti- fic knowledge and techniques. This superior knowledge is neces- sary for determining the condi- tions needed for peaceful living. It is only natural that as scien- tific advancement developes new techniques the standard of living would increase and the people made more comfortable.

Once peace is secured, it must be retained. People must be conditioned and adapted to living in peace. A highly organized sy- stem muet be set up quickly and efficiently. The system must be' able to control everybody from birth to death and everything from drama to the construction of a sewing machine factory. The controllers must be controlled as

more and anyone who is -— by some odd circumstances - unable to be controlled must be eliminated —- taken care of so to speak!
The history of human con- duct, men's envy, pettiness and fear of freedom would seem to in- dicate that peace can only be ob- tained by the preceding formula. Is it worth the price?
To be at peace with himself, man cannot be free. He must be controlled by someone or some- thing-— even if that someone or something is an illusion. It seems to make man quite uncomfor- table to be free. Nan needs a
’force to pull or push him or to
fall back on if his life is dis- turbed. The worship of gods by man is a prime wxample of man's inability to be free. Man must always have someone or something controlling him; it may be a great mational hero, his mar- riage partner, some material thing or his boss, etc.
In order to be able to have peace, there must not be any national divisions —- no economic disputes to cause another war - no different races or at least no distinction between the different races, and in the final analysis there must be only one ruler,
dictator or figurehead (e.g. Big
Brother in George Orwell's "1884").
with the whole world united, a
controlled peace could be es- tablished and the economic pro- blem of competing countries would be eliminated. with the elimin-
ation of racial distinction or
the presence of only one race,
gthere would be a greater pos-
sibility of world peace and unity.
The presence of a dictator or ;figurehead ruler is a sign of
authority that men need to be
comfortable and united.
