He spoke of the task in getting the present Academy to its present high standard and. said that it would not be long be- fore further expansion would be necessary.

‘mere passed away at the Chor- ‘ottptowss Hospital on May 3rd, Mrs. Justin Huillfl. Bedford, in her Mil-s year. Mrs. Hughes, form- erly Gertrude Corrigan, daughter of Cornelius end Elizabeth Cor- rlgan. was born. July 6th, 1911 at Charlottetown. Although not in ro- bust health her death came as n shock to her family and friends. Besides her husband there ere left to mourn her mother and father and three sisters, Mary (Mrs. R. E. Connolly), Hilda (Mrs. R. B. Cameron). Stella (Mrs. J. H‘. Mc- Kenna). The funeral which was largely attended was held from the Frank Hennessey Funeral Home to St. Dunstarrs Basilica where Requiem High, l/lass was celebrated by the Rev. Francis Mc- Donald who also conducted the ser- vice at the grave in Charlottetown. The Rev. J. Walter lifcGuigan was present in the Sanctuary. The pall- bearers were R. B, Cameron, Jos- eph Hughes, J. ll. McKenna, Her- bert Corrigan, R. E. Connolly, Ray Hughes.

-A BIG FISH-You have often heard it said boys bring home the bacon, but this time Gerald Devar. Central Bedeque brought home the fish. While he was fishing in e stream on May 24th he pulled in a. trout which tipped the scales at 3 lbs. and 4 oz. It is the largest trout that is ever known to have been caught in that stream.

Dredging Equipment At $’side En Route To Wood Islands
—A strange looking procession entered Summerside Harbour yes- terday morning and lined up a- longside the Marine Wharf. It iurned out to he the tug Glenlivet 2 towing sixteen pontoons which are part of the equipment of De- partment of Public Works suction dredge No. l2. The dredge is now operating at Wood Island and this equipment is being taken there from Chatham, NB. En route one of the pontoons sprung a leak and was in a sinking condition, being held afloat only by the tow rope. As it vras slowing down the speed of the tug they came into Sum- merside for repairs. Each pontoon carried two sections of discharge pipe. When the dredge is in op- eration pipe ls laid from it to the place that the sand is being dis- charged. The Dine is held in place by steel arms which stand upright on the pontoons which are formed up in line. 5
