Hairax, July 15.—The fisheries on the shore of Quebec are reported about the same as yesterday, the codfishery being good at Thunder River, St. John River, Morsy and Sheldrake. Fair at Long Point and Newport Point. The codfishery is re- ported poor ail over the P. E. Island and Cape Breton coasts, but fair on the South coasts of Nova Scotia, from Canso down t» Spry Bay. Fair also at Digby. Haddock are fairly plentiful at Port Hood, C. B.,

Isaacs Harbor, Spry Bay and Digby, N. S. Heke quite plentiful at Port Hood and Digby. Mackerel have struck in

off the northern coast of New Bruaswick, at Shippegan, and especially at Point Es- euminac, where they are reported taking hooks freely. A few are hooking on the north side of P. E. Island, and at East Point and Black Bush, but none at Seuris, The netting from Souris had about two or three barrels per net, but none reported taken at any other place in Cape Breton. Some are being taken in traps at Dover Bay, N. S:, where several bankers were baited to-day, and good hauls are reported at Winter’s Island and other points of Mahone Bay. The best reports of herring taken are fair catch at Newport Peint, Que., St. Peter’s, C. B., Dover Bay and Digby, N.S. Ice procurable at Lunen- burg and Chester, N. S.
