Tuexx has been a rise in the price of oats tc 36 cents per bushel. But eggs hold at 9ecnts per dozen, and potatoes have gone t» nothing. The very great advant age derived from last year’s excellent crop of wheat has been well nigh discounted by the fali in potatoes. There will, too, be « heavy loss on lobstere, unless prices im- prove. It is estimated that the pack of this year will not reach one-third that of last year, notwithstanding the larger num- ber of persona who rashly engaged in the busine:s. Continued high winds have brought confusion vpon the fishermen. A number of lobster factories in all parts of the Province have been shut down. COrops look particularly well wherever the land Is in good tilth. Unfortunately the value of too meny acres has been reduced by reck- less cropping with oats. But, on the whole, the prospects for another extra good crop are, at the present writing, ex cellent. A heavy crop of hay is assured.

profeseors and students of St. Dunstan's College have learned that your‘connection with this institution is about to be severed. So unjleasant was the news, so sudden and uvexpected, thatfor a time we en- deavoured not to believe what we feared might be the truth; but now that all hope of yous remaining has sunk within our hearts, we bow our heads to the D.vine Roler of mankind and humbly say fiat voluntus tua.
On this most solemn occasion when we are met perhaps for the last time within this hall, we scarcely know in what language to speak to you a fond farewell. During the two years you have been associated with us, both in the capacity of Prefec: of Discipline and Rector of the Co'lege, you have won for yourself our unbounded confidence and _ affection. Your profound knowledge of the human heart has enabled you to govern us in- dividu:lly—app'ying to each one those remedies which his pecaliar disp»sition required, Counselling, advising and ad- monishiog, you have always shown that our spiritual and temporal progress was the object of your most tender solicitude. and difficulties obstructed your way, but they were kuown to none save to yourself and to your God. All inconveniences were met wit that calm and dignified submission, that undoubting confidence, which are always the notes of one placivg his trust ia the Author of every consolation.
And, now that you are about to leave us, we grieve with a very great grief, for we feel that au affectionate friend, a prudent direct- or and « loving spiritual father is about to be taken from us. But while we are moved to sad- ness at this inevitable separation, we extend our warmest congratulations to those who in future will acknowledge your spiritual guii- ance.
