Lonvon, Jan. 30.—Sir Charies Tupper, Canada’s high commissioner to Great Britain, has returned to London from the French capital, where he had spent the past ten days. Sir Charles Tupper brought along with him the droft of the Franco- Canadian treaty, which despite the troub- lous times in Paris occasioned by the Pan- ama scandals, was arranged by Lord Dufferin, the British minister, and officials representing the French government. This draft is made on the basis of granting Can- adian imports to France a place on the minimum tariff schedule of the latter country, The foreign offce here is now engaged in a consideration of the outlined draft, Sir Charles furnishing all the infor- mation required on the intricate points. If, as expected, this draft is approved by the British authorities, it will forthwith be laid before the French chamber of deputies and the Dominion Parliament for discus- sion and ratification.

Reaixa, Jan. 30.—Among the Northwesi’s exhibits at the World’s Fair will be a pillar of coal from the mine north of Edmonton, taken from a seam twenty feet thick. The pillar will be three feet in diameter and twenty feet high. The grain exhibit in sheafs wiil be de- corated with wild chickens and other prairie game.

Mrs. Brown's Case. Toronto, Jan. 25 —A most interesting case has come to light here, being that of Mrs. Brown, of Agnes St., who for years t.as suffered from Bright's Disease, the last two of which she spent io bed. Her feet were swollen so she could not welk, and being affected with paralysis she was taken to the Toronto General Hospital, where, after undergoing a lengthened treatment which did her no good, and receiving aocthing in the way of consolation save a certificate that she was incurable and a permit admitting her to the Home for In- curables. Even then she did not give up hope and tried Homcepathic treatment, but with as little reeults as the other. There seemed nothing left but to go tothat retreat where only those who are beyond al] human aid are admitted, and there wait for death to relieve her of her sufferings. She heard of that wonderful cure of Sam Murray, of Gravenhurst, by Dodd’s Kidney Pills, and she decided to try them. The first week she noticed very little change, but before she had finished the second box her back began tu feel easier, the swelling to leave her feet, and by the third week she covld walk, something she had been unable to do for two years befure.
