Wixnintrec, Feb. 11.—Dr. Blakely superintendent of educ.cioa, has made a report to the Vepariment of Education Ann and Loratte schools, it having been alleged by R. R. Kearn, rate- payer in the Lorette district, that the scuools were condoctei iu a way that raade them purely seperate schools, whiie at the same time they weredrawing the Govero- ment aod legislature gran‘s as though thev were public schools and complying with all conditions prov ded by the schoo] act. While tne report affirms that some of the charges made by Kearn were groundless, Dr. Blakely says:

“Father Dufresne visited this (St Cuthbert) school and confessed pu ile between the hours of twelve al one o’clock one day towards the end of November. In Lorette East echool this same priest confessed the pupils in the morning, commence ngat aboutten o’clock, The Father or the teacher put the curtain across the corner of the school room be. fore nineo’clock.
