MONTREAL (CP)—The indus-| trial section of the Montreal snd Canadian stock exchanges scored @ marrow advance Monday, its ‘second in as many days after bout two, weeks of steady los- ses. Trading was fairly active.

The advance was fractional in Most cases, but a few issues gained more than a point.

The weak spots were the refin- ing oils and banks, while the con- structions and base meta!s were nixed. ;

The papers, pipelines, foods, steels ‘and beverages were ‘igher. Textiles were active, but twnchanged.

Among the most active issues Massey was unchanged at 14%, Brazil was off % at 7, Bell failed io move at 40%, Dominion Tar was unchanged at 17%, BA Oil fost % at 386%, Aluminium gained % at 26%, Montreal Locomot ve advanced % at 19 and Trans- Mountain Pipeline was up % at 12%.

The penny mines and oils firmed from their morning lows and closed mixed.
