1995 - 1996 Yearbooks are now in!!

All 1996 graduates may pick up their yearbooks at the yearbook office (Main 09). Student photo ID is required.

All pre-ordered/pre-paid 1995-96 yearbooks can be picked up at the Student Un- ion Bldg only.

If you wish to purchase a 1995-96 Yearbook there is a limited quantity available at the Student Union for $10 each.

Time is running out to order your 1996-97 Yearbooks so do so SOON!

The deadline is April 4th, and orders can be placed at the Student Union Bldg. Cost$10. Seniors exempt..

Student Exchanges

Have you thought about going on a student exchange? UPEl offers student exchanges to Australia, New Mexico, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Exchanges are a great way to travel and go to university. If you are interested, stop by Student De- velopment and see the Stu- dent Exchange Advisor. You had better hurry because time is running out!! Exchange applications are due Thursday, February 13, 1997.

EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AWARDS

Students, Faculty and Alumni are invited to submit nominations for the UPEI Faculty Association Awards for Excellence in Teaching. The awards are open to all Univer-

sity faculty members.

The deadline for nominations is noon, Thursday, Febru- ary 13, 1997. Information about the awards and nomination forms are available at the Faculty Association Office (Main Bldg. Room #214) and the Department of Music Office.

Please be advised that the Student Union Ombudsperson is authorized to perform the following:

Article XII -- THE OMBUDSPERSON

The Ombudsperson of the UPEI SU shall:

1. Be elected for a one year term during the General Elections in the spring semester.

2. Endeavour to aid any member of the UPEI SU who encounters difficulties with

the University and/or with the UPEI SU.

ce Inform students as to what recourses are available for prominent student

concerns on campus and publicize these recourses through campus media.

4. Be a non-voting member of council.

5. Be entitled to attend any meeting of the UPEI SU including meetings which are

ordinarily considered confidential, such as Hiring, Executive, or special investigatory meetings. These may be attended by the Ombudsperson upon submission of a written notification of such intent to the UPEI SU Speaker.

6. Be entitled access to the files, business reports and financial records of the UPEI SU within twenty-four (24) hours of tendering a written demand to the chairperson of the responsible committee or Executive responsible for said files, business reports or financial reports.

The Student Union Ombudsperson is not entitled nor empowered to resolve conflict of any kind between students. If you have a problem with another student or the ombudsperson, please see the Director of Student Development or Security. The Women's Centre is also available.
