-who has been for many years a ser- vant in the employ of Hoa. Wm. Campbell, Commissioner of Publie Works—met with a painful accident on M ynday last. On that day he was returning to Mr. Camp- bell’s from Kensington. With one hand he drove the horse ia the sleigh, and with

the other he led a ‘powerful Clyde horse. After proceeding a short distance, the

animel he was leading took fright and ran np alongside the sleigh, dragging Mr. Dow; vau's right arm over his head, and put- ting it out of joint. The services of Dr. Kerr were called in, but he found it im-
