game for the/Lady Panthers to win so that their play- off hopes could be enhanced. For the first half they dominated the play but could only come up with one goal- off the stick of Mary Brad— ley. The Lady Panthers held on to the lead until the 68 minute markrwhen Molly Fish— er got credit for a goal which deflected off of one of our halfbacks stick. It was an unfortunate break for the Lady Panthers as a game cannot end in a tie. In the 10 minutes overtime period Mt. A scored on a short corner and the Lady Panth— ers play-off hopes looked dim. '

In the second half the Lady Panthers, with their desire and hustle, disorganized the Dalhousie attack and came up with two goals from center.forward, Mary Bradley.

Two penalty shots were taken in this half by the Lady Panthers—Mary Bradley and Pat Campbell. They were 1 for 2.

With a win under their belts, the Lady Panthers are now tied with Mt.A for the second play—off berth 1 inlthe western section of the AUAA Field Hockey Con- ference. However, due to the fact that UPEI lost 1—0 and 2—1 at Mt. A. they new have to win at least one of their next two games against UNB and St. F.X. Goals against Moncton - Janet Ellis Mary Bradley

In Sydney Kung Fu championships held in Sydney on October 10th. Five clubs from a ross the Mari— times, with over 80 athletes, took part in the tournament.

The Charlottetown club was lead by the strong perform- ance of Frankie Lavandier, a senior student at U.P.E.Iz Lavandier won the’senior mid— dleweight division and-placed second in theradvanced form with weapon category. Two other notable U.P.E.I:~were George Corney and Mike Whyte, both sophomores in Business. Corney took second place in the junior light heavyweight division losing the final bout in an overtime decision. Whyte placed first in the junior middlewieght division. Other winners from the Island were Billy Dunn, first place Pee Wee; Wayne Ross, first place Senior Lightweight; and Lorraine Mutch, second place Ladies Division.

The meet, hoisted by the Sydney club was well organi- zed and highly successful.0ne of the major reasons for its success was the lack of acc— 'idents at the meet. Ken Tal— lack and his wife both offic- iated in the tournament. Mr. Tallack is the chief instruc-
