GOOD TFMPLARBS. Annual Session of the Grand Lodge Held at St. Peter's,

The annual session of the Grand Lodge, Independent Order of Good Templars, met with Orient Lodge at St. Peter’s ons Thursdav forenoon. The different Lodges were well represented. The report of the Chief Templar showed that there had been an increase of 165 members, and that there were seven Lodges and one D,strict Lodge in the jurisdiction, besides three new Juvenite ‘Temples. The Treasurer’s report showed the balance on hand to be $23 56. »
At the forenoon sessiun twenty-five c1n- didates received the Grand Lodge degree. At the afternoon session a good deal of general business was transacted and the following officers elected : —

In the evening a public meeting was held at which the Rev. William | Lawson presided. The building was thronged, and the proceedings throughout were of a most enthusiastic character.The address of welcome was delivered by W. H. McEwen, and replied to by Kev. J. Goldsmith. The remainder of the programme was made up of vocal and instrumental music, recita- tions and addresses. During the evening the Grand Lodge officers were instelled, and international Supreme Lodge regalia was presented to Rev. William Lawson, PGC, 7.
The delegates all speak in the highcst terms of the hospitable treatment they re- ceived at the hands of the good people of St. Peter’s.

Nicholson, Surveyor, that is tosay, commencing at the norih- west angle of H. J. Cundall’s property on Kent Street and ranning along the shore until it reaches the bank at or near His Honor the Lieutenant-Governor’s bathiag house

Councillor Nicholson then introduced the following resolution, which was sec onded by Councillor Douse :
Resolved, That the Public Property Committee be appointed to superiatend and to engage a competent person to ovér- see and inspect the construction of said breastwork,
Councillor Hughes moved an amend- ment providing that the Street Committee have charge of the work.
The amendment was declared carried, Councillors Nicholson and Douse voting against it.
Councillor Nicholson moved, seconded by Councillor Douse :
Resolved, That His Worship the Mayor
whereby authorized ani instructed to issue debentures out of the funis of the corporation for a sum not exceeding
$3,000 for the purpose of constructing said breastwork and roadway, in denomin- ations of $590 each, for a period of 20 years, bearing interest at a rate mot ex- ceeding four per cent, per annum, such debentures to be issued from time to time during the progress of the work as this Counc:! may deem requisite and expedi- ent.

Mayor Dawson, in giving his casting vote, said he did not consider it alvisable to issue debentures until it wis known how much money the city would get from the Dominion Government.
