Illness has taken its toll out of the whipcord body that back in 1912 he sent. soaring over 12 feet. 8v; inches in the Olympic Games at Sweden. Bill didn't. win that time but. ii: took two of e great- est pole vaulters in the world at that time to beat. him and he was-the recipient of e. trophy from the King of Bweden for the gnmenesa and courage he had ex- hibited.

In an interview with the writer last night Jote McDonald. pro- moter of the championship bout produced s contract signed by Mooney tn which the latter has agreed to terms for the match to be staged at the Sporting Club on the above mentioned date.

McDonald stated he also has McCloskey under contract to dc- fend his title against the Mono- ton battler in s. ill-round bout which will headline a card orig- i-lally scheduled for June 9th but which was set forward until the 12th in order to give both fight- ers a. few extra days of prepar- ation and to enable the promoter to tron out the numerous details incidental to such an important match.
