A. ; Landry, editor and proprietor of l’'Evanyeline, Wey- mouth, has printed a special illustrated edition of l’Evangeline, in commeration of the recent Acadian Convention at Church Point, Digby County. The publication is highly creditable throughout. Among the illustrations is a picture of His Grace Archbishop O’Brien.

A Moncton Biaze.—On Wednesdy even- ing fire broke out in a shed connecting Knight’s bakery with a barn. When the alarm was given the barn was a mass of flame and the fire had spread to the bakery. The barn and sheds were totally destroyed, the other buildings being only slightly damaged. The loss is covered by insurance.

Coat Discovery.—The Bridgetown, N.S. Monitor says : Last October Abram Duke- shire, of Maitland, while digging a well on his premises, discovered a seam of coal about 14 inches wide, running across the centre of the well. Recently samples of the coal were sent to New York to be test- ed, with the resu/t that it has been declared the genuine article.

A Train Wrecked. |

Reapine, Pa, Sept. 19.

A wreck occurred on the Reading Ruil- road, 17 miles above this place, about 6 45 o'clock to-night. The cars went into the river. According to the estimate, four or more bodies remain in the wreck or have been swept away by the current. Over 25 wounded and 13 dead have been taken out wreck. The train which left this city at 6.05, running 38 to 40 miles an hour, and had on board 125 to 150 passengers, of eugime, tender, mail and ex- press cars and three passengercars Above Shoemakerville isa curve where the rail- road is about twenty feet higher than the Schuylkill River.
