DANIEL STEWART FALLS OFF A TRESTLE AND MEETS HIS DEATH IN THE BAY,

| Daniel Stewart, a laborer employed cn the trestle work being built along the water front by the San Francisco Bridge Com- | pany, met his death yesterday about three \oclock by drowning. Mr. Stewart was | working on the trestle near the Rainier | Mill Company’s property, on the North Seattle beach. The foreman had left him a few minutes before the accident to go further up the trestle, telling Stewart to come along in a few minutes. As the man did not come, the foreman had started back to where Stewart had been working, when he was attracted by a number of people who were on the trestle calling for help. The people were attracted to the spot by cries for help, and when they got there found a man in the water apparently dead. Pike-poles were secured, and by their means the man was raised out of the water by hooking into the man’s clothing. | When brought to the shore it was found that the man had been druwned, but there was a large bruise on his forehead. It was ithe general op.nion that Stewart had slip- jped on the trestle, and in falling into the
