Lundrigan's Construction le- l ited of Corner Brook is plan-i ning to build the centre which would have space for 11 stores. It would occupy the site of a former woodyard operated by Bowater's Newfoundland Pulp and P r Mills Limited. the city’s principal employer.

The Corner Brook West Bus- inessmen's Association says the B roa d w ay area contributes greatly to the city by taxation and anything done to deprive the area of business would have an adverse effect on the city.

The association complained to William Adams, a 's. Nfld., lawyer appointed to hear objections to city plan amend- ments which included provision for the centre. The business- men said: ”We are fighting for our survival and the survival of Broadway."

MORTIER BAY, Nfld. (CP) More than 900 head of cattle have been rounded up by the Flying L Ranch Company in. Saskatchewan for shipment to! this Burin Peninsula commu-l nity, company President Harold Lees said late Monday.

The big shipment is iihe re- sult of successful experimenting over the last year with 130 head of Flying L cattle on the grassy rolling hills which surround this community. The cattle were brought here last summer and are said to be thriving.
