Assessment at present imposed hr Law on the Town :tnd Royalty of

l’rincetown,” and also ol‘ an Act made and passed in the Twenty- seventh year of the same row", inmulml. ‘- An Act: to consolidate and amend the several Laws imposing an Assessment on all Lands in this Colony and lor the encouragement of I‘lducatton.”

I do hereby publicly notily the owners or occupiers of Lands in this Island, for which the annual Assessment or Assessments charged

thereon by the said recited Acts, or some one or more of them, of

nine shillings and turn pence lawl'ul money of this Island for every hundred acres ol‘ wilderness or unimproved Lands, contained in the several 'l‘ownships and the Islands belonging thereto; and the sum ol'six shillings aml eight pence ol'like tnoney [or every hundred acres ol'cultivated or improved Lands in the said several Townships and Islands as aloresaid; and at the rate of nine shillings and two pence of like tnoney per hundred urn-s lin‘ wilderness or unimproved Town Lots and Pasture. Lots in lilt‘ Town and Roy: .y of Princetown; and at the rate ol'six shillings ztrl~l t'iglil pence oi like money per hundred acres for cultaVated or iuoo'th-d Town Lots and Pasture Lots in the Town and Royalty ol' I’i iota-town as aforesaid; and the sum ol‘ four shillings of like mom-y lor each and every uncultivated or unimproved Town Lot, Common Lot and \Vater Lot, gratit- ed in the Town and Common ol' Charlottetown; and the sum of six shillings of like money for each and every uncultivated or unimproved Pasture Lot in the. Royalty of Charlottetown; antl the sum ol~ t'our shillings of like money for each and every cultivated or improved l’asturc Lot in the Royalty; and the sum of two shillings and six peace of like money for each and every cultivated or improved 'l'own Lot and Water Lot in the said Town; and the stun of two shillings ol‘ like tnoney for each and every cultivated or ill]- proved Common Lot as alorcsaid; and the sum of two shillings and eight pence ol like money for each and every uncultivated or unim- proved 'l'own Lot and \Vater Lot in the Town of Georgetown; and the sum of one shilling and four peace of like money for each and every cultivated and improved 'l‘own Lot aml \Vater Lot in the last

mentioned Town; and the sum of three shillings and four pence ol’

like money tor each and every uncultivated. or unimproved l’aslure Lot in the Royalty of Georgetown: and the sum of two shillings ol like money for each anti every cultivated or improved Pasture Lot in the last mentioned Royalty; and the sum of two pence of like money for each and every acre of cultivated or improved Lands in the Royalty of Georgetown, called Reset-Ved Lands; and the sum oi'three peace 0 like moneyfor each and every acre of such last mentioned Lands as may be deemed uncultivated or unimproved Lands; and so in proportion lo‘ a less quantity—is payable; that unless the Assessment or Assessments for the current year, nnposcd hy the said recited Acts, or some one or more of them, he paid into my hands, or the hands of any of my Deputies, (as required by law,) on or before the Sixth day of DECEMBER next, 1 shall proceed against all such Lands as shall then be in art ear for non-pay-

IS Excellency the Lieutenant Governor in Council was this

day pleased to fix and determine the rate at which the

amount of the Invoice of Dutiable Goods imported into this Is-

land from the United States of America, shall, in estimating the

duties payable thereon, be reduced into current money of the Island, as follows :—

In all cases where such Invoices shall he made out in Dollars and Cents of the paper currency of the United States, the amount of such Invoice shall be reduced into current money of this Island, by allowing for each Dollar the sum of FOUR SHILLINGS, and in the like prOportion for any fraction of 0 Dollar; of which all Collec- tors of Impost are to take notice and govern themselves accor- dingly.
