camera and I feel there are lots of events on campus worthy of a photo. Why not get that person snapping? Pictures could only improve your already improved publication.

I feel confident there are others who share my views and I thank you in advance for printing my comments. Once again, congratulations on the fine paper you’re producing and best of luck for continuing success.

Congratulations on the new format of our campus newspaper. So far this year I found it to be informative with plenty of articles from our own school. I am especially pleased to finally see a section focusing on the largest segment of the University Community -- Women. Campus Women seems to be dedicated to the proper and detailed reporting of happenings related to women and womens issues. These issues have been in existance, with a low profile, for a long time. It’s good to see that someone has taken the initiative to correct this discrepancy. I’m also pleased to see this paper has the integrity to admit to sloppyness and is willing to reprint articles that are less than acceptable due to printing errors.

Dear Editor,

First of all I would like to comend you and the staff On the super job you are doing of producing a newspaper that we can all be proud of. There is however one weekly feature that I personally don’t agree with.

That is the Campus Womens page. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for equal rights and all but I just don’t see what purpose segrating the sexes holds. It seems to me that some of the biggest women’s libbers are so busy trying to be like men that they

forget that they are women!! We as women are equal but different and I feel that what most of what these women are crying for is respect. Respect is a two way Street-until these women start respecting men and men respecting us there will always be a war of the sexes. I don’t think that

complaining, protesting and writing all over the stalls in the women’s washroom by the pit is the way to solve the problem. I find it so sad that it seems like no one in the world - whether it be men and women, different racial and ethnic groups or countries simply don’t respect one another. Respect seems to be the bottom line to all our problems.

- Take for example the simple example of marriage.

So many women today insist on keeping their maiden name not just for career purposes but just to make a statement. But what are they trying to say??? You will always be who you were born as and a simple name change isn’t going to make a whole hell of a lot of difference! I am a very traditional person and I feel that it is an honor to have someone’s namesake. I do however intend upon having a career in business and if when I get married my career is already established I will probobly keep my maiden name. But only for matters relating to my career! Perhaps it’s my traditional values coming in to play but I can think of nothing more fulfilling than being married and having children. After all isn’t having children one thing that only women can do? We should be proud of that!

I sincerely hope that I haven’t offended anyone with my views but I’ve heard many other girls express the same opinons. I'd like to hear more from all sides of the story including more from guys and what they feel about the situation. Maybe you guys should consider your own page "The Campus Men" - I wonder how the feminists would feel about that idea????
