Last Weex’s Fisaixc.—Along the eastern part of the Island no mackerel of any de- scription were taken last week. The north- erly wind of the last day vor two drove the bulk of the fleet into Souris harbor for shelter. There are not a great many American vessels in the fleet. The cruiser Critic is also there. Some of the fishermen are becoming disheart-
ened. Mackerel are not showing up in ‘*schools” this year, and seiners as yet have done little or nothing. Some good catches
are, however. expected as soon as the weather clears up. The Nutwood, of Souris, is high line so far, having made a “‘ dip” of forty bar- rels the first week she was in the Bay. ~~
