Iy DistRess.—A recent despatch from St Thomas says: Schr. Glendy Burke, Stanwood, from Prioce Edward Island for Boston with potatoes (before reported), put in here Jan. 21, reported to be leaking and with logs of sails. Her cargo was sold at 25 cents per barrel for sound potatoes and realized abcut $200. The schooner is not leaking and no repairs have been effected.

In this department of the fine arts, the Captain’s brush has already won a lofty position in the mind uf the public and the mere coupling of his name with the above work is in itself sufficient to warrant the favorable impression which, beyond the shadow of a doubt, it is likely to receive.
