Important Resolutions Adopted— Officers Elected; cert

The snnual meeting of the Provincial A\l ance was held in Kindergarten Hall on Thursday. The proceedings began at 2.15, with the appointing of committees.

The following resolutions were then submi'ted by the committee on resoinu- tions (D. Schurman, J. Anderson and S M. Martin): vat

“lst—Resolved, That total national pro» hibition is the most effectual remedy for the drink traffic, and the ultimate goal of ; all our temperance legislation.

2nd —We entirely dissaprove of the legal protection being giver to the traffie by any license law; or of any private gain or public revenue being derived trom a system so utterly wrong in principle, sucidal in pclicy, and disastrousin re- sults.

3rd—Resolved That pending the pass- ing of a general prohibitory law we urge upon our Federal Parliament the granting to the several provinces which gave 4
