Mrs. Yap Yap and others who had not breakiasted early were doing so now on grasses and other things. Yap Yap could see them bobbing up and down here and there as they stuffed themselves with the 800d green things they iound not too iar irom their homes. Alter cutting o, mouthful oi grass each would 'sit up while chewing it. not because it was easier to chew when sitting up, but in order to keep watch ior possible ~ danger.

Far away in the sky Yap Yap saw a speck. That is all it was, a speck. a dark speck. Yap Yap kept a watchful eye on it. Ii that was King Eagle, as he suspected it was, he must be watched. King Eagle has a taste ior Prairie Dogs and Yap Yap has known it ever . since he can remember. So he kept ‘a watchful eye on the dark speck in the sky, but he didn't let this keep him irom watching all around just outside the village, too. Did something move out in the grass back oi that old unused house on the edge oi’ the village? He stared long and hard. He had about made up his mind that he had been mistaken. Then he was sure he hadn't been. Some one was in the grass behind that old house trying to keep out oi sight. No iriend would be doing that.

"Danger!" barked Yap Yap. perking his tail ss it that had something to do with his barking Everybody ln the village sat up and took notice.
