Leadership Awards

The University of Prince Edward Island will offer a number of awards of varying amounts (a maximum of $1000) to students who are making a

:

significant contribution to university life through participation and lead- ership in areas such as drama, clubs and societies.

To be eligible, students must have passed at least eight three-semester hour courses in the previous year of study or, if first year students, satisfied the entrance requirements of the University.

Procedure: Individuals may be nominated by students, faculty, or staff of the university. Nominations will be in letter form providing any sup- porting documents that should be considered by the selection committee.

Chapel Services

THERE WILL BE another Protestant Worship Ser- vice this Sunday, Dec. 6 at 8:00 pm. This is the second Sunday in Advent so you can expect a Christmas mes- sage to get your mind off of exams and into the spirit of celebration! So come on over and bring a friend.

Catholic mass is held daily at 12:00pm with Fr. Frank Jay leading. Father Frank is also back again on Sunday nights at 6:00pm to lead in Worship once again.

Also in the near future there will be some special Christmas services. These services will be ecuminical and focus mostly on fellowship with others at this time of joy- ous celebration. Keep your eyes open for posters etc. telling of these coming events.

On behalf of Octoberfest °87, I would like to thank everyone who participated. The costumes were all super, and all deserved prizes.

I would especially like to thank our two judges for the contest, Neil McRae and Bruce Barrett. They had a diffi- cult task to choose the winners, and it was felt by all that they did a very commendable job. Thanks guys!

Thanks also to everyone who volunteered to work at the Tony Quinn Pub, Red Rock Challenger and the Hal- lowe’en pub. A very special thank you is extended to Judy Meyer. Panther Lounge Manager. Without ‘your advice and super ideas, Judy, I would have been lost!

In closing, I hope that everyone had fun and that next year’s Octoberfest is as successful if not more so, than this year’s.

Fellowship This week at IVCF: Party, Party!!

IVCF is hosting a party for all members and friends. Details of the party will not be released at this time {they’re Top Secret), so you'll have to come on out Fri- day night to see what’s happening. That's right, the big — event will be this Friday (December 4th). All party happy christians should meet at the Robertson Library Lecture Theatre (rm. 111) at approximately 7:00 p.m... we'll take it (or you) from there.

If you are in possession of a car or a musical instru- ment, please feel free to bring them along (Note: do not bring cars into library, leave them in the parking lot out-
