AN OBNOXIOUS PAMPHLET.

Tne Quebec Soleil,the Toronto Globe and other Grit newspapers recently published what they claimed jto be the facsimile of a .pamphlet criticising Sir Wilfrid Laurier for haviog permitted Canada to take part in the wars of the Empire and being too much in favor of Imperial - ism. It is known as French Pamphlet No. 6, and these papers claim that it was issued from Conservative headquarters, with Sir Charles Tupper’s approbation, fot circulation in Quebec. Incidentally these same papers have been fiercely denouncing Sir Charles for having one policy for Quebec and another for Ontario, I' transpires, however, that Sir Charles knew nothing of the pamphlet in question until it was brought to his notice by an inter, viewer afew days ago, when Canada’s grand old man _ promptly and em- phatically repudiated it. -% never heard Of the pamphlet to which you refer until today,” said he ‘and | have not yet read it. I need scarcely say that if it contains such expreegions as you describe, I have no hesitation in repudiat- ing them utterly.
