Orrawa, July 13.—A_ startling rumor is current in the parliament buildings,— affecting the older members of the inside

service. It isto the eflect that the govern- ment has decided to superannuate all officers over sixty years ofage. If this

be true, it would apply to ministers, namely Colonel] Minister of Militia, Colonel White, deputy Postmaster General and Mr. Parmelee of the department of Trade and Commerce.

Hon. Mr. Fielding, as acting Minister of Marine and Fisheries has revoked the action of Sir Louis Henry Davies, decided upon just previous to the Minister’s depar ture, has and decided to extend the season for the catchingjof jobsters in places where it would expire on July L5ta, for nine days —that is up to and including Saturday, July 24th.

Peters, is ashamed to award it to Schurman & Co. who are reported to have the lowest tender ? What isthe matter with thé one-man government? Or is it that some of the material specified to be used in the construction is so flimsy tbatit would not be safe to put the Students int» the building after it was completed ? Is it that the levels or grades for a foundation are in the same condition as the levels and grades of the wing to the asylum, where the work cannot be proceeded with ? Will Mr. Peters rise and explain his conduct to the country, or is he ashamed to let the people kuow about the elaborate residence he is providing for Dr. Anderson at the people’s expense ?
