ment must go prepared to show that reci- procity of trade between the two countries is for the benefit of both. that, | believe there will be no difficulty in obtaining reciprocity, but until then we wonld only get, as the late Government got, a humiliating rebuff.”

So far from secing auything to be athamed of in the remarks of “our Tory members,’’ the intelligent reader of Havsard will see in them much to admire. tn fact Mr. Hackett, who replied to Mr. Davies opening speech about Reciprocity, ‘‘floored” that gentle- man as neatly and as completely as he did when he spoke ou the questiou of the Budget
