Despite the bad travelling conditions a large crowd was in attendance. Great interest was shown through- out the game, and was much en- joyed by young and old. The win- ners of the prizes were: Ladies’, Miss Gertie Nantes; Gents‘, Mr. Ambrose Monaghan and consolation was won by Miss Kathleen Cusack. A dainty lunch was then served by the hostess, assisted by afriumber of the ladies present. after which a few hours were devoted to music, singing and dancing. 0n the evening of January 17th. the largest curd party of the season was held in the spaci- ous home of Mrs. Francis Hagan. A very fast game was played. all play- ers out to win, but the last stage of the game gave the following the winning score: Ladies‘, MisrMary Monaghan; Gents‘. Mr. Joseph Nan- tes; consolation, Miss Mary Bradley. After partaking of a bounteous lunch served by the hostess, the re- mainder of the evening was spent in music and dancing. The ladies' prize was won by Miss Mary Nantes. ‘The gents’ prize was won by Mr. A. Beers, while the consolation prize went to Mr. Louis McGuigan. Spec- ial mention must be made of the sumptuous repast served by Mrs. Flood and a number cf the ladies present. Dancing was then indulged in for a few hours, while excellent music was furnished.
