I flipped my wig after hearing this CD. Really, its true. For all you unbelievers, Josh is a hip-hop hippy, and he was recently signed to the prestigious label Anticon Records. “Big Mouths,” “Outlook,” and “La Rambla” are three of the neatest tunes preserved on a slab of plastic. LIVERPOOL SOUND COLLAGE Paul McCartney, Super Furry Animals, and The Beatles

This bizarre experiment in found sound harkens back to the spirit of McCartney’s progressive explo- rations near the collapse of the Beatles. Merging snippets of Beatles studio conversations with sound effects and beats, Liverpool Sound Collage is an album’s worth of material that is probably what the Fab Four would be using for hidden tracks, if they were a young band coming out of Liverpool today. But don’t expect to find any unearthed Beatles’ songs, or pop tunes on this album. McCartney

and the Super Furry Animals stick with a scrap book formula of cut- ting and pasting sounds together, and it works on a sonic level in a few places thanks to some phat beats. Beatlemaniacs will find this album a challenging listen, and should probably avoid it the same way they should avoid retrospec- tives of Pete Best.
