Up to that point we were batting a thousand. Twenty-four successful shuttle missions down, and now it was time for number twenty-five. You know when you get used to being as perfect as that, sometimes you tend to get a bit careless, and the little things start to become of secondary importance. Insignificant things like temperature readings, and checking the locks on those fuel tank joints.

So what more can we say? You win a few, you lose a few. We accept that here at Lockwell Internat'l because we know what it means to be a world- class leader in the high technology industry. And that means sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind and go for it. And granted, on January 28. we screwed up. But hey, everybody makes mistakes, right? “Baby with theBathwater’’ now playing

The U.P.E.I. Theatre Society has launched its second major production for this academic year, Christopher Durang’s contem- porary satire, BABY WITH THE BATHWATER. The play, a

frantic attack of sophisticated parenting techniques, opens with Baby’s well-meaning but terminal- ly neurotic parents asking the eternal question: “What do we do with it?’’ Delight with their new addition quickly becomes despera- tion, so the frustrated parents turn to Nanny, a demented Mary Poppins, who promptly seduces Father. Baby grows up surrounded by a collection of manic and mis-

guided adults, eventually seeking salvation through ten years of intensive psychiatric therapy.

The play is directed by Patrict Hennessey who directed last year’s successful lunchtime pro- duction of An Actor’s Nightmare also by Christopher Durange. He believes that “‘the play is highly critical of social conventions, but also extremely funny. In our pro- duction we have tried to maintain a feeling of tightly-controlled lunacy.”” He is confident of the play’s success, ‘‘thanks to the efforts of so many people: the cast, crew and production staff.””

Nancy McLure, the play’s pro- ducer, is pleased with the amount

of campus participation in this production. “‘Most of the cast and production staff are members of the campus community, thus making the production as event that all members of the university can take pride in.””

The play, which opened Wed- nesday, March 19, will continue through to Saturday, March 22 at the Steel Recital Hall on the campus of the University of Prince Edward Island.
