Alternative Booksnre Serves Region

An alternative bookstore is opening in Halifax next- nmth and it expects to serve the entire Atlantic regim.

me bookstore, called Red Herring Books, has been set up on a cooperative basis and according to board member Cathy Crouse "will attempt to serve the Atlantic region by providing access to books that are difficult to find. his is especially . important to P.E.I. since there are no bookstores (on the Island) speciale izing in the books we plan to stock."

"To serve the areas outside Halifax, we are setting up a very good mail order service. Be- cause we are a Small operaticn we will be very about procasing small orders and therefore hope to provide faster and more efficient service to the individual book buyer."

The general topic areas- that fed Herring will stock include waren, labour, the 'lhird World, children's literature and political economy. I
