Yesterday's game saw a crowd oi _-, chilled but enthusiastic spectators witness kicking duels. broken field runs and fast following in both halves. Tackling was also hard throughout and several times time had to be taken out for slight in- juries suffered by players from both teams. The outstanding play of the first hall was the 40-yard run by Blanchard. The starry back- field man of the P.W.C. team inter- cepted a pass deep in his own ter- ritory to take the ball well out of danger before being hauled to earth. Quigley. P.W.C. fullback gathered in a bounding ball on his own 10-yard line in the latter part of the session to give the crowd an extra thrill as he relieved the pres- sure with a 25-yard jaunt up the field. ,

But probably the most outstand- ing and dangerous piece of broken field running was contributed by Corcoran of the S.D.U. in the sec- ond half. With play in P.W.C. ter- ritcry the three-quarter man of the Saints snared a low pass and ap- peared headed for a try as he dodg- ed tackler after tackler only to be brought down three scant yards from the line by a tackle from be- hind by Art Cantwell, fast P.W.C. backfield man.

Blanchard again was a tower of strength off-znslvely and defensive- ly for the P.W.C. team. His general- ship took his team out of many a tight spot while up front the work of two forwards. McLennan and Beck was outstanding.
