Woodcock and his assistants will have charge of Sun Beau, and if Kilmer is willing to place the des- tinies ofthis horse with the Aus- tralians there is no question but that he is satisfied that their meth- ods of training are superior to those of his own countrymen.

The differences are not merely slight ones. The Australians follow plane for bringing a horse into form widely at variance with those of trainers here. They rarely gal- lop an animal and then they run him for a couple of miles. The re- mainder of the training period is spent in careful schooling and handling.

On the motion for consideration of the resolution in committee, Rt. Hon. He felt also that as Parlia- ment had the power to appropriate money there should be some defin- ite amount named in the bill to be used for the purposes intended. The final provision of the resolu- tion, which authorizes the Govern- ment "to loan money to and guar- antee the payment of money by any public corporation or under- taking" was exceedingly wide, in the opinion of Mr. King. There was no indication if it had anything to do with employment relief or not. In effect it granted the Govern- ment very wide powers to be ex- ercised in the way mentioned. The position leader asked the Prime Minister to state whether or not the order before the House was intended as an unemployment re- lief resolution, or whether it was a series of separate measures giving to the Government various distinct powers. In conclusion Mr. King said that the opposition p. tested as strongly as ever against the approp- riating of imnamed sums of money from the public treasury.
