Blackout

The words are already there - all you have to do is find them by blacking out the extra letters and you will have a completed crossword puzzle. To make it more difficult, most of the extra letters also form words, so you will have to work at it a bit. Some of the rules will help, so read them carefully before beginning.

RULES

1. Every letter must be part of a word, both across and down; therefore, no letter can have a black square on both sides.

2. The diagram must be symmetrical diagonally; therfore, if you black out the

box in row 6, column A of the left top quarter of the diagram, you must also black out 6-A of the right-bottom quarter of the diagram, and vice versa. The center row and column are heavily outlined- when you black out a square in this row or column, simply black out the same box at the opposite end of that row.

3. The puzzle does not necessarily start in box 1-A; it can start anywhere in row 1. There is at least one word in every row and every column.

Note: Watch out for abbreviations, foreign words, hyphenated words, and “2 letter phrases, they do exist in this puzzle to make it more challenging.
