President-- Clare informed everyone that the new Student Union Website is up and running. She also informed coun- cillors that they all have blogs that they will be using to com- municate with students (and the blogs are a great place for student council members to share their favourite jokes and recipes)

-- The by-election was announced (and by the time you get to reading this we'll already know who won)

-- The day lounge in the W.A. Murphy centre was presented with a plaque from the Credit Union, signifying their dona- tion to the project.

-- Clare is now sitting on a committee to deal with the dan- gerous situation of students crossing into the new Brown's Court. This is a situation that must be dealt with and a solu- tion must be found quickly (or people could walk the extra few feet to the lights and go across at the crosswalk instead of running through 4 lanes of traffic).

Exec VP-- Mark informed council that the Student Survival Guides have been distributed and it con- tains valuable information to those who live on and off campus.

-- Mark has been working with the City Police on reinforcing noise level and parking regulation with- in the Brown's Court region.

-- The first Breakfast Club was held on Wednesday the 29th featuring speaker Gordon oa! (aka- The U-FIT guy)

BOG-- There was a donation made by the J. Hoover

Foundation.

-- There was discussion over the Fish Hatchery situa- tion.

-- The contract was granted for ~ development of the

new residence.

MAPUS-- The welcoming tea went well

-- There have been discussions about the Scholarship program and life long learning.

-- There will be a food drive starting on September 27th for the Food Bank.

GSA-- Wine and Cheese to be held on October 6th.

-- The GSA has been in talks about allowing internation- al students to work off campus. |

-- General meeting was held on Friday the 24th of September and a new seat was created for the Master in Education program. -- The GSA is now in the final process of incorporation.

Senate-- No news.

Arts-- The Music Society held their Ist Year orienta- tion on the 24th.

-- Political Studies Pub Crawl on the Ist.

-- Two Sociology Society Meetings have been held and the new executives have been introduced.

-- Arts Societies are going to be encouraged to work together and hold events as a faculty (in other words...a super dooper huge arts pub crawl!!!)

VP Activities-- Society Day, September 27th from 10 to 2.

-- The first Dance Party was held Saturday, September 25th and the theme was "Ghetto Fabulous." (And this pimp had a pimp-tacular time!!!!)

-- Pete emphasized the need for councillors and any SU staff to promote and attend the events that are host- ed at The Wave.

-- New Promotion at The Wave, in parnership with Barvaria Beer, it's the hot tub party!!! Buy a Bavaria and get a chance to win a hot tub party for you and 20 friends and at the end of the promotion someone will actually win the hot tub (and yes the hot tub will fit in your room...I measured)

Science-- There was a pub crawl held on Friday the 24th and the turn out was good.

AVC-- No news

Nursing-- The first pub crawl of the year is on October Ist, in partnership with the Engineering society.

-- Afternoon of bowling was held on the 26th of September.

-- The chocolate bar campaign has commenced | for the graduation banquet to be held next year (and yes...I ate one of those bars...and if any nursing students wanna drop by my office...I will surely throw some more money their way...they were sooooo good).

VP Finance-- Britt announced that the Student

Union's accounts have been audited and major

improvements have been noted.

-- There are still positions to be filled for this school year and there will be a eee: ae shortly to fill

these positions.

-- Mike Connelly asked the eadent union to pro-

vide a donation of prizes to give to game stars at the

upcoming Mickey Place Memorial Basketball

Tournament....Keep on rockin Britt!!!

Business-- Business Society was held on the 13th and

- the executive will be holding meetings every Monday.

-- Business Luncheons will be starting soon and there has been an expressed need to attract more first year students.

-- The entrepreneurship class will soon be marketing and selling around campus and it was encouraged to show support.

-- Computer Services is currently testing wireless internet access in Kelley Building.
