Callie MacPhail Callie is a graduate of the Sherwood Parkdale Metros of the Island Junior Hockey League. His four year career with the Metros was highlighted by his participation in the two Tier ll Centennial Cup Tournaments at Red Deer and Toronto. He is in his first full season with the Panthers and has been experiencing difficulty in finding his scoring touch, although he has more than made up for this deficiency with his strong defensive play. Callie will graduate in May with a Badlelor of Business Administration and plans to plrsue a career as

a Chartered Accountant.

Avelino Gomez Avelino is the son of the late illustrious Hall of Fame horse racing jockey ‘Avelino Gomez Sr. The highly touted netminder is enrolled in the freshman business program. Avelino was drafted at 18 years of age by the Boston Bruins of the NHL. He attended the Bruins training camp in 1980 and the Winnipeg Jets training camp in 1981. He played two years with the Kingston Canadian of the OHA "All Star" team. Avelino has been a valuable addition to the Panthers this season and is one reason why the club is sporting a winning record.

he handled most of the goaltending workload with the Panthers. This season he is very capably serving as backup goaltender to Avelino Gomez. Jamie is a junior business administration student and plans to enter the hotel—motel management field following graduation.

Doug Currie Doug came to the Panthers this

season after a spectacular four year career with the Sherwood Parkdale Metros. He was a member of the two Sherwood Parkdale Atlantic Canada Junior Championship teams. Doug's enthusiasm and dedicate hard work have made him a very popular member of this year's Panthers. He is enrolled in the sophmore arts program and at the moment his

future plans are decided.

Boyd Corcoran Boyd is in his, rookie year with

the Panthers and has seen only limited action to ' date. He is a graduate of the Westisle Wolverines of the Island Hich School Hockey league. Bovd's attitude and desire are qualities that should make him a performer with the Panthers in the years to come. Boyd is in his first year of Business administration and at present, his future plans ' are indefinite. ‘

Greg Nichol-son This is Greg's first year with the Panthers after sitting out the 1980—81 hockey season. He is a former member of the Summerside Crystals of the Island Junior Hockey league.

Greg's dedication and hard work has impressed the Panther coaching staff. Greg plans to enter the ministry and is presently taking courses at UPEI and the Maritime Christian College in Charlottetown.

John Butler John is a product of the Charlottetown My system and a graduate of the 1980-81 provincial high school champion Colonel Gray Colonels. The freshman business student has made the transfer to university hckey from high school hockey very successfully. John has been a‘

regular in the lineup from the beginning of the season and has impressed the coaching staff with his physical hard-hitting style of play. John's

future plans include a career as a chartered accountant. ‘
