Noonan. 55. a native of Bedcquc. P. E. 1.. who disappeared last E'rl- day from his home.

Mrs. Mary Noonan said her husband. a carpenter, was worried because of his apparent slow re- covery from a virus ailment.

She said he left their home be- fore 6 e. m.. an hour earlier than usual and did not take his car.

The couple have six vhlldren whose ages range from 11 to one year. A brother of Noonan lives in Halifax.

A group of Ohsrlotteiown curl- ers yesterday learned of the early morning storm the hard way. They startedlby car from this city to take part in a bonspiel at Sum- merslde but after bucking and fighting their way as far as Fredericton were forced to abandon the car and take to the train.

Road conditions were caused by an early morning gale accompan- ied by wet snow which packed in and closed all main highways of the Province. Plows did not at- tempt to go out as the going was very rough and it was decided to wait for colder weather before risking the machinery on the roads.

- SAD FATALITY - A coron- er's jury. meeting in O'Leary last evening. found that the late Mr. Mr. Lawrence Riley or O'Leary. whose body was discovered in the Howlan woods Feb, 8th.. had come to his death by strangulation, self inflicted while mentally deranged. He had been missing since mid- October. The first witness was Mr. Firmsng Perry who told of finding the remains. The three other wit- nesses called were. Dr. L. G. Dewar. O'IAary. and Cpl. The course was conducted by Dr Fisher with 12 young farmers from different parts of the Province in attendance and was held at the Vocational School. During the iii- struction periods Dr. Fisher dealt with various diseases. their pre- vention and control as they related to cattle. sheep and swine. He took the class on two field trips to point out various items of interest from the practical side of farming. He showed the class some of the many things which could be wrong with animals and which would neces- sitate the services of a veterinarian

Throughout the course emphasis was continually placed on the fact that individual farmers should be able to determine whether or not veterinary services are required for particular troubles encountered in their livestock.

Installation of the new air hora equipment for the City Fire De- partment is proceeding satis- factorily. At the present limc workmen are installing a five horsepower electric compressor 1:. a section of the basement of City Hall at the southeast corner.

A trapdoor was cut in the floor of a small storage room and the large green compressor was in- stalled d-irectly below to permit. of easy access. On the floor above will be installed two tanks. one 3' by 8' and another slightly smaller immediately above it. They will hold compressed air. Both tanks are reported as being on their way here and are expect- ed to" arrive shortly.
