It was with feelings of de lor- orell received the news of Mrs. Duncan Coffins death which took place, suddenly at the City Hospital.

The deceaed was in the 69th year of her age and spent most of her life in Morel! where she was a highly respected citizetn, noted for her generosity and sparkling hum- our. “To know her was to love her may be truly said of this splendid woman."

Mrs. Coffi-n was ever an active member of all parish and commun- ity affairs. she was also a member of the choir of the Little Flower Church.

Her husband, Duncan. predec- eased her 18 years ago.

She leaves to mourn her loss. six children. Monty in Chestnut Hill. Mass; Vincent in Morell: Walter with the R. C. A. F. in Trenton. |Dnt..; Helen. Mrs. John Harrison in Salem. Mass; Janie. Mrs. John Hughes. Morell and Agnes. Mrs. Solnerled Kelly, Moreil.

I-Ier funeral which took place on May 24th. was largely attended.

The pallbearers were: B. W. Mac- Ewen, William lvfcGi-aht, Frank Kelly. Layton Coffin. M. B. Keefe and Harold Murphy.

The Mass of Requiem was sung by her pastor the Rev. Pheian Mc- Ken-na. Interment took place in the Little Flower Cemetery.

POLICE COURT —- At the Sti- pcndlary Magistrate's Court ye.- terday five persons appeared on charges of drunk and disorderly. two being sentenced to 20 day's in jail each, two fined $20. and costs or 30 days while the fifth was re- mended until Wednesday. Four drunk and incapables also appear- ed. two being fined $10 and costs or 20 days, one $5. and costs or l) days and the fifth was discharged and sent to hospital on becoming ill. Friends of Herbert Moore will be pleased to know he is fast re- raining his former vigor, at h‘s home after been seriously ill following an appendix operation. Herbie is just waiting for the sunshine, to get outdoors to en- joy it.

0n Monday the llth. the 14th. Charlottetown (S.A.) Coy. held their closing meeting for the sum- mer months. A real outdoor Guide meeting started at 6.30 p.rn., a sec- ret trail was laid by Capt. B. Carr" accompanied by half the Company. the other half followed in tcn minutes, catching up with the first party behind Sunset Lodge on School Street (or was it behind the garage Joyce)? A happy time was spent on the lawn by Sunset lodge singing Guide songs. after a Guloc closing all hiked to Menifs Tea Room for a treat of soft drinks and cookies (were they Girl Guide cookies Beverly?) Plans are under- way for an occasional hike through the country (Guides how abou‘ Rocky Poirt) for some real outdoor guiding during these enjoyabh summer months.

The Field Secretary visited Cen- tral Royalty on Friday, June 25th, to test Brownies J-anet Wood. Syl- via. McKinnon. Helen Stewart. Pa- tricia Nicholson, and Edna Ross, for their Golden Hand Badge. They were smart and clean in their appearance and knowledge of the work was absolutely first class. as of course it should be for the First Class “Brow-nie“ Badge. Helen Stewart had an excellent knitting specimen and others also showed good work. The semaphore test was passed by all. almost with ease. and as this is usually the most dif- ficult part of the test they are to be highly congratulated for such a fine showing. Patricia. Nicholson and Edna Ross showed special apt- itudivfor semaphore-keep it up girls. At the conclusion of all the tests, Golden Hand Badges were presented to five very proud Brow- nies. The Brown Owl. Mrs. Fred Osborne, is a splendid Leader and the training given the Pack is ob- vious. How about some Guides in Central Royalty? ‘f
