CADRE.

The Cadre shall act as the newspaper of the Student body of UPEI. The prime function of the

Cadre shall be promoting student involvmenE and informing the student body of campus even-5:

regarded as libel. RADIO UPEI

Radio UPEI shall operate as an external part of

University life involving students in Campus life. The Radio shall advertise any events spon- sored by the Student Union and prOVide programs of music and information designed for the needs

and desires of the student body. CAMPUS POLICE

Campus Police shall operate as a poliCing force for all events sponsored by the student Union.It

shall consist of a Chairman. assistants and oth— er members. Allmembers of the Campus Police shall be members of the Student Union.and .

The Campus Police shall be hired by the differ— ent committees for their events and shall be con sidered in the employ of that committee during Athf time of the event.

WEE—

Yearbook Committ¢shall be responsible for produ— cing a yearbook and shall inform the Photo Club of their need of photos. '

Seniors shall be consulted by the Committee con— cerning their desires for their yearbook regard— Thg overall production of the yearbook. ' The committee is itself responsible for techni- cal details and layout problems.

ADVEETISING COMMITTEE

The advertising committee has been formed by the Union for the purpose of regulating the ad— vertising responsibilities of the Student Union and its various sub-organizations Special responsibility is given for the advertising of the Cadre and Yearbook and if need be Radio UPEI.

A Club for those interested in Photography. This Club will be financially assisted by the Student Union and in return the Photo Club will provide the pictures needed by the Yearbook and newspaper staff.

THE—EILM_SQCIEIX

The Film Society shall have the resposibility for bringing first rate movies into the Univ- ersity. Council would like to have at least two movies a week depending upon the financial feas-

ibility of it. The Film Society shall attend to the equipment needed for the presentation of these movies.

AMATUKE ATHLETIC ASSUCiATiUm

Amature Atneletic AssociatiOn suall sponsor and coordinate all amature events carried out by tne Student Union in co—operation with the atheletic department.

SUCIAL COMMITTEE

The UPEI Social Committee shall have resposibil-' ity for the overall social life of the Student Union body. This Committee shall coordinate soc- ial events and also sponsor dances, concerts,and other events of their own.

'(1') The Student Judical Committee (s.:c)' shall have disciplinary powers. as delegated by the University Senate, over all breaches of Univer~ sity rules, as established by the U.P.E.I.S.U. and/or the University Senate. involving students.

STUDENT JUDICAL COMMITTEE

(2)3Membership:

(a) The SJC shall consist of a Chairman and five members. ,

(b) The Chairman of the SJC shall be appointed by the UPElSU Council.

(c) The members of the Sac shall be appointed by the UPEISU Council in consultation with the Chairman of the SJC.

(d) The Chairman and the members of the SJC shall be registered as full-time students at the Uni— * versity.

(e) The Chairman and the members of the SJC shall not be members of the UPEISU Council.

(f) The SJC shall appoint a vice-chairman to act in the absence of the Chairman. ‘

(3) POWERS:

rThe 530 shall have the power to:

(a) Levy fines up to $100 7

(b) Suspend or restrict student privileges in the UPEISU: '

(c) Direct a student to make comensatory payments for any property damage caused: and

(d) Recommend to the President of the University the suspension or expulsion of a student, either from residence or from the University.

(4) OFFENCES :

It is an offence and triable by the SJC:

(a) to use abusive or obcene language in an area deemed to be public: “ (b) if a student is under 18 years of age, to carry or consume alcohalic beverages at events specified as dry by the University and/or in a- reas specified as public;

(c) to act in a dangerous or careless or disor- derly manner, whether or not harm to person or property results: '

(d) to interfere with the student police or the University security police in the preformance of their duties: ,

(e) to interupt proceedings of the SJC:

(f) to refuse to comply with an order of the 83C, excepting where an appeal has been launched: and (g) to prevent any member of this University — student, faculty, administration, or staff- from enjoying his rights or persuing his duties within the University.

(5) MEETEEG : t (a) The Chairman of the SJC shall have the right- to call a meeting of the SJC.

(b) All members, when asked to attend a meeting of the SJC. must attend as non-appearance with- out a legitmate reason shall result in immediate expulsion from the committee. /

(¢)3Five members of the SJC must be present

throughout all meetings of the SJC to constitute a quorum. '
