He was on board the schooner Boreas, of Nova Scotia which had sailed for Canso, and had to return on account of adverse winds, Robertson was handcuffed and handed over

Tue Clark's Harbor correspondent of the Yarmouth Herald says :—The arrival he:6 of schr. Pioneer, Capt. Kinney, from the Gulf of St. Lawrence, with 700 barrels mackerel, sea-packed, marks the first at- tempt at purse seining from this place. The trip occupied a little over two months, and was made for the most part off the coast of P. E. Island. The vessels which went to Seven Islands, Quebec, for the purpose of trap-fishing, have returned with very small fares. Last year they met with no better success here, and it is not likely that the experiment will be again tried.
