We are pleased to learn that the time for lobster fishing is likely to be extended this season, Col. Duvar, the Fishery Inspector, left for Ottawa a few days ago, in reply to a despatch from the acting Minister of Marine and Fisheries, and we hope we will succeed | in having the desired change effected. We beg to call attention to the new adver- tisement of the International Steimship Co., which we insert today. On Monday last they commenced to make four trips a week, their steamers leaving every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, for East- port, Portland and Boston. We had a call to-day from their Provincial Travelling Agen’, W. H. Olive, St. John, N. B., who is here on business in the interest of the above Com- pany.

Tux first wife of Brigham Young died at Salt Lake last week. She became a convert to Mormonism at Avon, N. Y., in 1831, and went to the Mormon colony, then in Ohio, where she married Young. It is said that, having accepted the doctrine of polygamy, she made no opposition when her husband began to practice it extensively, though she invariably fell ill from excitement and grief at every mew marriage. She lived separate from the other wives, and kept her five children as much as possinle from the rest.
