Meeting opened with a devotional period by the members of the W. M. S. led by the president. Rev. Mr/Ilhomas of Malpeque then took the chair and made a few approp- riate remarks. A pretty drill, m. titled “The Spirit of Thanksgiv- ing"was presented by the children of the Mission Band. Miss Eliza- beth Ramsay rendered a delight- ful solo. Mrs. Parker. the guest speaker of the evening; who cap- ably dealt with the subject "Mis- sions and the activities of the church at home and abroad." was heard with much interest and was greatly appreciated. Mr. Parker. who was present was also called upon and gave a short talk. After

Parks of The Canadian Bank of Commerce who has been transferred to Montague and who is leaving shortly to take charge there. After an evening of bridge the party sat down to s. hot goose dinner. Following the dinner Mr. Jas. E. Wel‘s spoke of how sorry the men were to have to lose Mr. Parks and how in his five years in Alberton he had become so popular and well liked, not only

At the annual meeting of the Crystals’ Hockey Club last night in Summerside, Crilly Lea was el- - ected president: David Lidstone, vice-president; and Gus Blacquiere secty-treasurer. Jack Schurman and Charlie Cahill completed the executive.

Judging by the interest taken in last night's meeting, the Crystals will have a. real good season and with the mtaerial available, a bang-up team will be iced. It was decided to sponsor s. senior team only and all Juniors will be given a chance to make the grade.

The club will hold P. T. classes at the Crystal Rink starting Mon- day night until the Weatherman provides the ice. Mr. Edgar Bough- ton cemented to act as trainer and put the boys in shape. Aways and means committee consisting of Alex Nicholson, chairman, Wil- fred Perry and Gus Blacquiere was appointed.

It was also decided to hold a dance next week to help raise funds to equip the team and the boys feel that the citizens will support them in every way. S
