Well Known Montague Mon, W. Harry Lane, Dies In Sydney

MONTAGUE —- The death of a well known businessman of Montague. W. Har Lane. oc~ curred Saturday evening about 8.30 in his 76th year. He was re- siding with his son Sterling in Sydney, N.S.. had been up and about in the afternoon until he was suddenly stricken with a heart attack.

He was born at Hazelbrook. son of the late Mr. and Mr 5. Mortimer Lane. Over 30 years ago he moved to Montague with his parents where he became; engaged in the fox ranching business which he continued un- til 1948. at which time he es- tablished the Lane tourist cab- in business which he has oper- ated until the present time.

r. Lane was well known throughout the province as well as many parts of the continent. due to his contact with hu n- dreds of tourists annually.

e was a respected citizen of the Town of Montague where he served on the town council and as mayor.

He is survived by his wife. the former Etta Cook of Mount Stewart. and a daughter. Eileen Mrs. Don Coolen. Bedford. NS. and five sons: Hollis. Calgary. Alta.; Dr. Arnold, Winterburn.

The remains will arrive i' ‘I. day night and will rest at MacLean Funeral Home. 0' Iottetown. until Wednesday ternoon when the funeral -- vice will be hed at 2 o'clock with interment in Floral H i l i ii Memorial Gardens.
