A South Rustico man was given a one—year suspended sentence when he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault in Queen’s County Magistrate‘s Court Wed- nesday morning.

Magistrate Gilbert A. Gaudet presided.

The accused was released on a $250 peace bond.

J.0.C. Campbell. Q.C.. appear- ing for the accused. told the court that the incident was part of a long standing feud between the accused and Benoit S. Martin al- so of South Rusttico who laid the charge.

A New London man appeared on two separate charges of as sault. He pleaded not guilty to both charges that arose out of an incident at lrishtown Commun- ity Hall Octobcr 27th. The charg- es were placed by Mrs. Gertrude Paynter of Carleton Siding and her brother-in-law Glynn Payn- ter.
