L, who spent two weeks in Roman Valley, Guysboro Co., with his mother, Mrs. Farrell, and other relatives, returned to town on Wednesday and is spending some time in Trenton, N. 8,, with his sister and brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Steele, before returning to his home on the Island. NAMED TO COLLEGE STAFF- Mr. Millar McLure of Dundas has been appointed to the teaching staff of Prince of Wales College temporarily it was learned yester- day. He will teach English until Christmas. The appointment was made necessary by the continued illness of Dr. G. D. Steel, principal oi the institution. Other staff changes are said to be under 0on- siderstion but have not been set- tled definitely. The college will open for the fall term next week- Prof. J. H. Blanchard, the vics~ principal is acting principal. Dr. Steel has been seriously ill since last winter.

HERE FIIDM CALIFORNIA — Mrs. Angus MacDonald of Sacra- mento, California. is at present vis- iting Island relatives and friends and is staying at the home of her sister, Mrs. Peter Stewart of Bells River. Mrs. MacDonald, who was formerly Miss Bennett McLurc of Murray River, left P. E. 1., as a bride 3-1 years ago. She notcs many changes during her long absence but says that the beauty 01' ‘J16 Island seems more lovely than ever and that the well kept homes and flood roads add much toward mak- lng the Island a veritable semi- parndlse. While a guest of Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. MacDonald, accom- panied by her sistcr made s short trip to Nova Scotla. The crosslrld was made on the new ferry, the Prince Nova, and was thoroushl! enjoyed. In fact, Mrs. MacDonald grows quite eloquent when talking about her Island trip and uys she will not be so long about making s second visit. Needless to say her relatives and many friends also hops that she may soon return.

McGuigun. . After hearing evidence of Dr. J. S. Led- weli, physician who attended the deceased the hearing adjourned until word is received back from an autopsy performed on the body of "the deceased,

Mr. James W. McCallum is fore- man of the jury comprised of Messrs, Thomas White, L. A. Mc- Donald. G. S. Williams, Milton Bell. Frank Wheatley and Forest Slocombe.

On being sworn in Dr. Ledwell stated that he had received a call to go to the home of the deceased on Euston Street around 9 o'clock Monday night. On arriving there he found the man in bed lying in a coma and vomiting. Witness had the deceased removed to the City Hospital for treatment where he, ave him treatment for coma but| he man passed away about an, hour after being admitted.

In answer to o question by one of the jurymen witness stated that coma could be produced by several things such as a severe head in- jury. Poisoning or a severe illness. Witness could not give a definite statement as to the cause of death, but death could have been caused by acute poisoning alcoholic or otherwise. Witness then suggested that an autopsy be performed and a report received from a pathol- ogist ‘The jury then moved that the autopsy be performed and the hearing adjourned pending the re- po__r_t back from the path gist.
