The budget debate was concluded in the Legislature at 5.50 P.M, yeg- trrdaj‘, and the House immediately wont into committee on the estim- ales. After recess the House met again at 8 o'clock, the estimates be- ing passed at 12.30 AM. Th0 dis- cussion on several of the items was very lively, and practically every do. ailment can-la in for constructive criticism and review by the Qppqgl- tron. In his reply Mr. Veniot occupied about one hour and a haii. the first portion oi which ‘was rather noisy and partook somewhat oi vaudeville. To say the least the postmaster gen- eral did not pose to advantage and might have been imagined to be on a political hustings bluiiing opponents in the audience.
