Sap Drowsinc Arrarr.—Stephen McDon- ald, postmaster of Tracadie Cross, and Joseph Campbell, a youag man, son of Doneld Camp bell of Tracadie, were drowned on Friday evening when returning in their boat from the fishing grounds. The day hid been very rough and there was « big sea on. la crossing the bar the boat came to grief anc upset. A man named Paul, who was also an occupaat of the boat, managed to cling to the capsized craft for a couple of houre, but his companions were drowned, The settlement of Tracadie is profoundly stirred over the accident.

FAILED.—The Carette Company of Halifax has had a short life, and not a very merry one either. A meeting of the shareholders was held in Halifax on Friday last, at which the directors made their report wherein they ad- mitted the total failure of the enterprise as a financial venture. Of the subscribed stock $19,920 had been fully paid up ; $380 had been received in partial payments, and $4,960 was wholly anpaid. The net earnings of the cor- poration were only $1,073, while the unpaid bills aggregate about $4,000. Of a $1,253 feed account $359 ia unpaid, and the other accounts are in proportion.
