1873, 15;8$2 scholars in the elementary schoels,and though the experiment had been tried for only six years, no less than 13,032 of thesescholars had separate accounts in the savings bank, with a total of 463,064 f., or an average of about 35f. for each depositor. in France, in 1881, there were 14,278 school banks, with 397,452 separate acconnis and a tetol of 6,228,560f., an average of over 20f. At Liverpoo! 34 school banks have been established in connection with with the Liverpool! Savings Bank ; and in 1880 the number of separate children’s accounts had risen to 9,522, and the sum daponited to £4,108.
