Information Session on

UNB Law School, Nov. 23

Philip Bryden, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of New Brunswick, will present a one-hour information session on UNB’s law program on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at 7 p.m. in AVC Lecture Theatre B. There will be lots of opportunity for questions. Everyone is welcome.

Test Anxiety Workshops for Students, November 14, 21 The Department of Student Services is sponsoring a series of three workshops designed to address the issue of test anxiety for UPEI students. The two remaining free workshops are scheduled for November 14 and 21 in the Sports Centre Boardroom 7-9 pm. As space is limited students are asked

Library Offers “Study Hall” Hours On Monday, November 7 to December 15, 2005, the Robertson Library will offer “study hall” hours, Monday to Thursday, from 10 pm to 12 midnight. This means that the Library will be open for anyone needing a study space from 10pm - 12pm - but it will not be offering any of its regular services, such as Circulation or Reference.

This “study hall” idea is a new trial venture for the Library. We encourage all you night owls to take advantage of the trial. Help us make this fly.

Note: Regular library services will be offered during our normal extended hour period, Nov. 28 - Dec. 15, on Monday to Friday to 11pm and on weekends until 10pm.

Campus Clean Up

On Wednesday, November 2nd, the UPEI Environmental Society organized a Campus Clean-up. Perhaps some of you noticed students going around with garbage bags, picking up litter with their bare hands. Or perhaps you were one of the good folks who came out to lend a hand — in which case you are also the recipient of one of the many wonderful prizes that were donated to the cause by various businesses in town. (See the Student Union office to collect your prize!) Regardless of who you are,

- you will have certainly received at least

one good thing from all our hard work: a cleaner campus. Never mind it only took one

day for the lawns to be re-strewn with

all matter of wrappers and paper and pop bottles. UPEI’s first Campus Clean-up was a triumphant success.

_ Participants collected heaps and heaps of unsightly junk that had been scattered around the University. (See photo.) Imyself took no small measure of pride in the end result. Hopefully, when we organize the next Campus Clean- up in the spring, more students will come out and get involved; and more people will win prizes! Perhaps, one day, people will even learn to appreciate the environment, and there will be no need for such things as Campus Clean-ups.

Free Writing Workshops Continue Any students curious about the writing process or English 101 exams can stop by the Writing Centre in the Robertson Library for some helpful tips and sage advice. Writing workshops take place Tuesdays afternoons from 4:30 to 5:30 and Wednesdays mornings from10:30 tol1:30. For more information, call 894-2886

November 29 and 30: Tips for Exam Preparation (mainly for English 101 exam)

The Writing Centre is also having an essay writing marathon on Wednesday, November 23 from 4-10 PM. Students can come in, bring in their essays, reports, and term papers, and tutors will be available to help with last minute revision, proofreading, documentation, etc. There will be coffee and donuts too!!
